General Discussion
There was a lot of discussion on upholding the Golf Village Protective Covenants. Several of these are highlighted in the section below titled Specific Covenants Discussed. Please refer to the full Protective Covenants for the complete text. These Covenants are in the best interest of our sub-division and are aimed at maximizing property values and keeping order in the neighborhood.
We had more discussion around grass clippings as with last year. Everyone within Golf Village is served by the pond for their storm water and sump pump water removal. When residents blow their grass clippings into the road, they get washed into the pond, filling the pond and leading to excessive biological growth in the pond. Further, THIS VIOLATES TWO VILLAGE ORDINANCES. (Chapter lQ-Nuisance Ordinance and Chapter 34-lllicit Discharge into Storm Water Ordinance.) Both prohibit blowing or sweeping grass clippings into the road. The Village will be contacted to control violators of this policy.
Specific Covenants Discussed
These are the Covenants discussed and meant for emphasis on compliance this year:
Building Approvals – are required for new fences, permanent pools, sheds, etc. Contact the Association officers for plan approvals. “No new buildings of any type may be constructed on the property without approval of the Architectural Committee” [i.e. Board of Directors).
Storage – “. . .It is intended that all vehicles, boats, recreational vehicles, etc …. must be garaged.” The Association has interpreted this as restricting out-of-garage storage of any of the above is limited to casual storage (such as on a weekend, on occasion) but NOT throughout the season for boats, as an example. For vehicles, one vehicle may be parked in the driveway on a regular basis as a convenience to property owners but outside storage of multiple vehicles on a regular basis is prohibited.
Berm – Additional plantings on the surrounding berms are encouraged but must be approved in advance.
New Business
Prior to adjourning the attendees discussed having a yearly get-together in the summer. Anyone interested in working on this can contact Josh Jackels via the Facebook Page he has set up for Golf Village.
